When in dystopia you will hear alot of talk of "pub member" and "comp member."
This post is here to explain the difference.
There are many gaming communities out there. Some of them are strictly pub or just want to grow for the masses. Some are competitive that simply drive to make money and seek sponsors. And some are multi-gaming organizations that have many teams and many servers for many games, but those teams hardly know eachother. dys plans to be somewhere in the middle of all of those.
This community has one competition team. We are 7 players at all times. We focus on one game and one game only when we compete. When we change our game, either all of us go... or none of us go. The competition roster only unlocks when some one has to drop, and when that happens our pub community has open tryouts for anyone who wants to be bumped up. We do not go outside and recruit randoms to fill our slots.
The rest of the community is a pub clan. This is players who are close friends and just want to game. The amount that they want to game is up to them. The type of game they wish to play is up to them. They are bound by a zero drama tolerence contract and they understand their position in the dys community. Here for fun with friends and no here to whine about not playing in comp. They are allowed to try for comp if a slot opens, or if asked by the leader.
If 7 pub players come together and wish to play comp for a game the current comp team is not playing... They may be able to do so. It all depends on the current surcumstances.
